My First Scrapbook Page

I have thousands of photos saved on the computer that I would love to do something with… as well as  a few of the old fashioned variety. One of my goals is to sort through them all and learn the craft of scrapbooking so I can give these precious photos a place to be displayed and admired rather than just sitting on a hard drive.

Warning!  I am only new at this…

A while ago I went to what I was told would be a scrapbooking class. It turned out to be a party plan to sell scrapbooking materials. One tool they used to sell their products was ask you to bring a few photos to the class to make a page.

I rummaged through old photo boxes trying to come up with a theme. I found three photos of my husband and daughter from when she was only a babe. The common theme is the adoring way they are looking at each other. (Hint: as this was my first project I scanned the photos in case I destroyed them). The result is the below page.

As this was done in a party plan environment it doesn’t have the usual embellishments that you find on most pages. I have thought about adding them but I actually like it’s simplicity for a first attempt.

Do you scrapbook? I would love to hear your ideas.

  1. Scrapbooking is just catching on here in Denmark. I’m tempted to have a go but – fortunately?! – the supplies cost a fortune, so that’s one less craft for me to get into right now. Though I’ll look forward to seeing what you come up with… ;D

    • Some can be pricey here too as certain stores try to cash in. I’ve been “collecting” supplies for a while now, the best are those not marketed for scrapbooking. Hub is always asking when I’m going to start doing all these things I say I’m going to do….no more procrastinating :)
