It’s time again for the OLW blog hop!
One Little Word (OLW) is a class being run by Ali Edwards at Big Picture Classes. My One Little Word for 2011 is Create. (Other posts on my OLW can be found here.)
During March we were asked to take “One Little Action” on our word:
select and commit to doing one little thing.
March is the month I planned on really starting to gather all the tools I needed to begin Creating some projects. There were a couple of major events on the calendar this month that I used as a starting point. There was a Craft Expo held over 4 days in Sydney. I wanted to make sure I could get as much out of it as possible so I bought tickets to attend 2 days. It has been about a decade since I’ve been to one of these events and I was in crafty heaven. Soooo many products to choose from! Scrapbooking, card making, beading, sewing, doll making, patchwork, quilting, the list goes on. I stocked up on scrapbook and patchwork supplies. I sat in on a couple of seminars on patchwork and card making, and I watched a number of demonstrations. A couple of methods I’d never seen before are French Scrapbooking and Paper Quilting. I’m really interested in trying paper quilting this month!
Now that I’m set with the tools I’ve completed a few projects and pages. You can see them here and here. One project I finished, which I wasn’t planning on doing, is finishing a mini book of my Dad that I started 6 years ago after he passed away. It has given me closure and I can now look through his photos with a smile.
Below are the March pages for my OLW album. I’ve added more pinks in this month which blends in with the photos from February.
I have signed up to a couple of other Big Picture classes (Finding your Way; Creative Juices; Photo Finish) and I’m doing a Crop Bootcamp with Blue Bazaar which is 30 layouts between 1st April to 31st May.
Let the Creating Fun begin!
Please hop on over and visit Miranda and check out her One Little Word. There are more fabulous people participating in this blog hop which commences at 8am PST (Pacific Standard Time). They are listed below if you would like to start from the beginning….

I have a question… what printer do you use to print the cards etc onto cardstock? I don’t think I’d be able to get mine to do that! >_<
hi, it’s just an old Pixmar Canon MP600. The colored pieces are matstack from DCWV
Wow, sounds like you really got into it this month – love the subtle colours on your pieces, and feel really happy for you that you were able to complete and enjoy your dad’s album.
Create is such a great word. It’s wonderful that you were able to finish the mini album of your dad. My grandfather passed away last year and I have wanted to do the same thing.
Gorgeous page! And I love your word. Glad you’re on the hop.
Wonderful news on the projects you’ve completed. That’s always a great feeling! Thanks for sharing with us in the hop!
wow – you’ve had a crafty month – i’ve been itching to go to a craft show lately – its been years. you OLW page came out great. will have to check out the other bp classes – although I just signed up for kp’s sketchbook 3. enjoy your weekend.
You did a wonderful job working your word this month! Those seminars sound fantastic. Your OLW pages are beautiful. I really like the soft colors. I really need to sign up for some classes this year!
Wow, you are signed up for a lot of classes. How fun!!!! Good luck! xoxo
I loved reading about your actions and your pages are beautiful. I look forward to hearing about your classes.
Create really was the theme of your month, wasn’t it? Especially including the craft expo. That sounds like heaven right now. None of that kind of thing in China. It’s all made here, but nothing decent for sale! Love your pages – great colors. Thanks for joining in on the blog hop!
The Expo sounds like it was wonderful inspiration. Enjoy all your new projects!
