Welcome back OLW blog hoppers!
One Little Word (OLW) is a class being run by Ali Edwards at Big Picture Classes. My One Little Word for 2011 is Create. (Other posts on my OLW can be found here.)
During July we were asked to create a soundtrack for our word. This took a long time for me to get into. Usually the music I listen to is depressing, emotional, melancholic (when I even get a chance to listen to my own music… living with a musician and teenager!) How was I going to find inspirational music either about creating or that can be played while I’m playing?
I found a couple of tracks in my music library that I love love love and and had to have even though they can still be a little sad. Then I began searching iTunes using keywords like create, color, art. I found a couple of tracks I knew and a few I didn’t but they were perfect. My biggest find was a wonderful artist Agnes Obel. I ended up buying her album “Philharmonics” and I highly recommend it.
So here are my 9 songs on my OLW Playlist and the words I chose for my cards
- Sensations in the Dark | Gruff Rhys ~ “And with a bright air of madness and flair you introduced me to new ideas”
- Broken Doll | Paloma Faith ~ “Wipe away my fears”
- Watercolor | Pendulum ~ “Feed the fire”
- Brother Sparrow | Agnes Obel ~ “From my window view I know a color blue”
- Do you want the Truth or Something Beautiful | Paloma Faith ~ “Just close your eyes and make believe”
- Bring me to Life | Evanescence ~ “Bring me to life”
- The Way We Were | Barbra Streisand ~ “Misty water colored memories of the way we were”
- Create | Alana Davis ~ “Sit down and create”
- Riverside | Agnes Obel ~ “Swim with the current and float away”

I really like how you have the butterflies throughout the card and even on your CD. What great songs for your word too.
love the way you incorporated the butterflies into all the elements. Beautiful.
Your cards are really nice. And I love that you linked us up to your songs. (I did that, too…) I really enjoyed listening to a few of them. Blessings on your creative journey!
