Welcome back OLW blog hoppers! WOW this is the end of our OLW journey for 2011. But it’s not over as I’ll be doing it all again for 2012.
For those of you not familiar with One Little Word (OLW), it’s is a class being run by Ali Edwards at Big Picture Classes. My One Little Word for 2011 is Create. (Other posts on my OLW can be found here.)
December was our final reflection for the year and a chance to say goodbye to our word. I looked back through year at what I had hoped to achieve with my word, and what I had achieved.
When it came to writing about saying goodbye and what I want to remember I vowed that I will not say goodbye to my word. I want to keep creating, just not as obsessively.
Here is a closer look at what I wrote:
“As I say goodbye to my word this year I want to remember:
~ how much fun I had
~ how at peace I felt
~ how I was able to relax and get into a zone
~ how it made me feel complete
As I continue to carry my word with me for the remainder of my life, I want to remember to be mindful of how long hours creating can affect my family. I want to remember to include them in the process either directly or indirectly. And I want to remember to also create for others, not just for my own satisfaction. This I will remember with my word for 2012 ~ HOME.”
So there you have it – My word for 2012 is Home. I was thinking about Mindfulness or Selflessness but the word Home spoke to me louder than any other word could. Home is not only about our house but also family. We have been through some very rough times the last few years and I want to make 2012 our year to heal.
Here is my pre-class title page:
One thing I found during OLW for 2011 was that I didn’t plan with papers, coordinating colors etc. I kinda just went with the flow and how my mood was at the time. This year, to make things easier and quicker, I have already picked out my papers… Cherry Delicious by Sassafras Lass. I have a kit of alphas and embellishments to use too. I am so keen to get started!
Registration is open for 2012 class. You can join up here. If you haven’t done this class before I highly recommend it. It’s better than any New Year resolution and it WILL change your life. And if you do decide to do the class, don’t forget to join us all on the blog hop each month where you’ll meet a fantastic group of ladies who are full of a tonne of inspiration.
Thanks for stopping by and for keeping me accountable. I look forward to seeing your word for 2012.
Next on the list is Jan so hop on over and check out her One Little Word. There are more fabulous people participating in this blog hop which commences at 8am PST (Pacific Standard Time). They are listed below if you would like to start from the beginning… See you all again next time !
