{Create} The MotherLOAD week 4 …the end

Big Picture ClassesOne of the classes I’m participating in at the moment is Lain Ehmann’s “The MotherLOAD” over at Big Picture Classes. We’ve been in class since 29th June undergoing basic training for our scrap marathon (a LayOut A Day for 26 days) which started on the 1st Sep. For this LOAD I am doing a mix of digital and traditional scrapbooking, depending on my mood and whether or not I’ve had the photo’s printed ;)

Week 1 can be found here, week 2 is here, and week 3 is here.

Now here are my last 5 layouts (apologies for blocked out photos but DH and Grace have requested their faces not be shown here) :

Day 22 – Thoughtful Thursday On this day we had to scrap about the endings in our life. My last few pages have been a bit of a downer so I decided today to scrap a happy time…. the end of 2010 – New Years Eve on Magnetic Island.
MotherLOAD 22Supplies:
Digi Template by Katie Pertiet – Capturing Layered Template
Digi Paper by Vinnie Pearce – Old Things Papers

Day 23 – Free-for-All Friday Today’s challenge was to capture your life in numbers. Ali’s kit “10 things right now” is perfect for this.
MotherLOAD 23Supplies:
Digi Template by Ali Edwards – 10 Things Layered Template
Digi Papers + Elements by Mindy Terasawa – Wonders Kit

Day 24 – Snack Saturday – Today we get to scrap whatever we want using our “snack bags” that we made up in basic training, but we also had to add lyrics or a song title to our page. I’m loving the Twilight soundtracks and one of my favorite (rather melancholic) songs is Possibility by Lykke Li. My snack bag had the chipboard heart, brads, flowers and the journal tag under the title. I was only going to write a line or two from the lyrics. Instead I ended up writing two verses. I guess this is why you should plan your journaling before you start writing!

Day 25 – Simple Sunday Instead of looking outside for inspiration today we had to look at ourselves, and our layouts, by scraplifting ourselves. I chose my layout from Day 5 (without the hobbydots!). The stamps are Ali Edwards “Family Is ” which my posty just delivered.

Day 26 – Mother May I Monday We didn’t have to ask for permission on our last day. As Lain said “You’re in charge. Go wild. Today is all about YOU. You are the boss of your scrapbook page, not just on “Mother May I Monday,” but EVERY day. Go forth and scrap.

MotherLOAD 26Supplies:

Patterned Paper by Basic Grey – Green at Heart, Prima Marketing – Madeline

So that’s it. Another LOAD done. 26 more layouts completed.

Now I might go and paint something.

LOAD May11 Day 31

Throughout the month of May I’m participating in LOADLayout a Day with Lain Ehmann. We will be doing one scrapbook layout a day for every day in May. To make it extra exciting we are given little challenges each day to incorporate into our layouts. How’s that for a challenge!

I will be using this opportunity to do 31 more pages for my “100 things about me” album. Today’s page is not for this album as it’s more about just how I was feeling.

Here is my 31st layout – LOAD May11 Day31 – Life is full of New Beginnings.

LOAD31

Today we had to create a page about a beginning or an ending in your life you want to celebrate. The photos are of our house knock down and rebuild which finished Feb 25 2010. The journaling is more general about new beginnings and change. It reads as follows~ “Whether it be the birth of a child, the sprouting of a seed, the building of a house, life is always full of new beginnings. We are constantly evolving, changing, demolishing the old, making room for the new. Spring cleaning. Decluttering our homes. Decluttering our lives. Changing jobs. Changing careers. Finding new hobbies. Finding a purpose. Always Searching.” (one might say a slightly better mood than yesterday! :) )

So that’s it. LOAD is over. Now what do I do?

LOAD May11 Day 30

Throughout the month of May I’m participating in LOADLayout a Day with Lain Ehmann. We will be doing one scrapbook layout a day for every day in May. To make it extra exciting we are given little challenges each day to incorporate into our layouts. How’s that for a challenge!

Here is my 30th layout – LOAD May11 Day30 – Delete! A day of Ups and Downs -> mostly downs

LOAD30

Today we had to follow our heart and go with the flow. I had a crappy crapola day so I scrapped about it, collecting ephemera  along the way. I’ve used a train ticket, a text message conversation with Hub, a photo of a photo book (see project 365 day 150), and an article from MX … a daily newspaper handed out at train stations. I used happy colors to contrast the crappy mood :)
