#16 Go to a Comedy Show

I’ve been to Theater Sports and I’ve seen The Goodies when they came to Australia a few years ago but I really wanted to see a stand up comedian or show like the comedy festivals you see on TV. The ultimate would of course be in Montreal or Edinburgh or even Melbourne but Sydney will do nicely too. And this was definitely a big enough event to cross #16 off my bucket list.

The Sydney Comedy Festival started on 11-April and is running until 08-May. Hub bought tickets to the opening night event, called “Cracker Night”, for my 40th birthday back in February and we’ve been wondering who’ll be performing ever since.

We were not disappointed!

Warning : Some people may find some links offensive!
In fact this gig was advertised as an all ages gig …..
we were so pleased we DID NOT bring Graviee!

There were about a dozen Local and International acts….I hope I have listed them all here, sorry if I missed anyone. Anyway I’m going to use a 5 ♥ rating system so I don’t keep repeating myself saying HILARIOUS and BRILLIANT and FABULOUS and TOO FUNNY and AWESOME, although I probably still will. So in no particular order they were….

The show was MC’d by the OMG soooo funny Tahir who plays Habib from Fat Pizza and many other shows (Australia). ♥♥♥♥♥

Dead Cat Bounce (Ireland) opened the show with a music number. ♥♥♥♥

Craig Hill (Scotland) and his leather kilt ♥♥♥♥

Daniel Sloss (Scotland) only 20 and so incredibly funny. ♥♥♥♥♥

Gina Yashere (England) Brilliant! Bahaha @ CSI. ♥♥♥♥♥

Dave Eastgate (Australia) Just don’t look at the spandex pants haha ♥♥♥♥

Glenn Wool (Canada) Hilarious!!! ♥♥♥♥♥

Moshe Kasher (USA) Funny ♥♥♥♥

Rhys Nicholson (Australia) ♥♥♥♥

Smart Casual (Australia) they’re smart and they’re casual. Really loved their Balloon song. ♥♥♥♥♥

Tig Notaro (USA) Absolutely Fabulous!! ♥♥♥♥♥

Tom Allen (England) Posh and Brilliant! ♥♥♥♥♥

Steve Hughes (Australia) Hilarious and Awesome!! ♥♥♥♥♥

By the end of the show I was dizzy from laughing so hard. This is something I definitely want to do more of!

3 Scrapbook Pages for you today

After flogging the house clean, making cakes and having a party for Graviee I thought I deserved a little R&R…. or craft time. So this weekend I’ve done 3 scrapbook pages! Remember I’m currently doing “Finding your way” class with Big Picture Classes to help me find my own style. I’m also participating in a Crop Bootcamp being run by Blue Bazaar (an Australian online store where I get my kits and other supplies) where we have to do 30 pages from 01-Apr to 31-May. So every spare minute is currently spent in the craft room.

08045Today

5 Today ~ I had my 5th birthday in Forbes in 1976. Since I was away from home, my Aunt and Uncle went to a huge effort to throw me a party. My Uncle loved photography and he took this shot. I had a lot of fun doing this page. I tried some texture techniques as demonstrated by Nic Howard during a True Scraps presentation. There’s a journaling tag hidden behind the photo which you can see pulled out in the next picture…
